Liverpool 5G attend Rural Showcase Event in Glasgow
Members of the Liverpool 5G consortium lent support to their 5G testbed and trial colleagues at an event in Glasgow this week.
The event, which took place at Glasgow University, was being held to showcase the work of 5G Rural First, which is the 5G testbed led by tech company, Cisco, and Strathclyde University.
The project has focused on how 5G technology can benefit rural communities living in remote areas like The Orkney Isles, by improving connectivity for schools, homes and transport connections. The event also revealed the work the project has been doing on finding tech-based solutions to issues arising in the agricultural sector – launching the project’s ‘Connected Cows’ app.
