Ian Smith, DCMS Director of Testbed and Trials, visits the Liverpool 5G Health and Social Care
The Liverpool 5G Health and Social Care project enjoyed a visit from DCMS’s Director of Testbed and Trials this week.
Ian Smith spent the day in Liverpool learning about the positive impact 5G technology could have on the health and social care sector.
The Liverpool 5G project is demonstrating how 5G technology best supports the growing array of health and social care devices/ apps because it is faster, more reliable and supports more data than existing technologies.
Mr Smith visited project partner AIMES’ headquarters in Liverpool. AIMES is the leading UK commercial provider of Trustworthy Research Environments (TRE), providing storage and data analysis for the NHS and health researchers. Aimes has supported the Liverpool 5G network by storing and analysing data from the project safely.
Liverpool 5G’s project leads all gave talks about elements of the project at the event and visitors met care providers who are successfully using the new technologies in situ.
