L5G Technical Authority at Security Collaboration Group

Liverpool 5G’s Technical Authority, Andrew Miles, Chief Architect at Telet Research, attended the Security Collaboration Group, which looked to bring together learnings on security throughout the DCMS-funded 5G Testbed & Trials programmes.

Inter-project collaboration was a core element of the 5GTT programme, and security was naturally a significant consideration of the projects. It was understood from the commencement of the projects that security should be considered at the design phase, and built through the 5G networks, rather than being an additional concern once the networks were established.

During the discussions, Andrew presented the Cyber Design Tool, developed in conjunction with the project by Liverpool John Moore’s University. The tool helps organisations visualise their security eco-system, and ascertain where the risks are.

The key learnings and discussions from the workshop were written up in this UK5G article.
